First strawberries of the season! Time for some strawberry picking!

Friday:
lunch: eggplant stew @Pomegranate Kitchen – very good stuff but weird location

dinner: fried halibut with white beans special @Geer St. Garden

Saturday:
April 7, 2012
breakfast: shashuka

lunch: half  of a fig-goat cheese sandwich @Reliable Cheese and beet salad

Fennel, cucumber, radish pickle

dinner: cuban black beans with fennel-cucumber-radish pickles, goat cheese, cilantro, scallions – this was amazing!

dessert: bay leaf creme brulee ice cream @Locopops

Sunday:
asparagus and shiitake mushrooms with roasted tofu in black-bean garlic sauce
beer braised collards

Monday:
lettuce, tomato, avocado, chickpea, farmers cheese salad with shallot, garlic, fennel vinaigrette

rutabaga salad
rutabaga tsukemono (japanese style pickle) with peanuts, cilantro, green onions

tempeh fries.
tempeh fries with curry mayonaise

Tuesday:

Breakfast of Champions.
breakfast: sauteed kale, baked eggs, and cuke-radish-fennel pickle on top.

dinner: tofu burrito @Carrburritos

Wednesday:
asparagus panini with walnut butter, truffle pecorino, and roasted green onions with artichoke and new potato soup @Toast

Thursday:
kimchi fried rice, big bowl of edamame, and chickenless chicken cutlets (all from Trader Joe’s), and leftover asparagus


Whew! That was a lot of cooking and fine eating this week. I am particularly proud of myself for tackling rutabagas (first time I “cooked” them, I think). This is good, as I’ll be eating out a lot for this weekend.

So I’ll be back next week with some recipes and I have a question for you- what would you like to see first?
